Over the weekend of 20th and 21st April 2024, KET has been invited by the National Army Museum in London to stage two days of events at the museum to mark the 80th anniversary of the battle of Kohima. We are busy assembling a stellar line-up of speakers for a weekend of talks that will offer a wide range of insights into the campaign and its participants.
The programme includes talks from Dr Robert Lyman, Fergal Keane and James Holland. Robert Palmer will also be there talking about Armoured Warfare in the campaign; Steve Snelling will be talking about the VCs at Kohima; Christopher Jary will speak about the 2nd Dorset Regiment at Kohima; Col S Jagdish will talk about the Medical Support at Kohima and Charlotte Carty will give an illustrated talk about her recent epic 39 Hour walk in Nagaland.
On Saturday evening, we have a very special event at which Dr Robert Lyman will be interviewing the grandchildren of Field Marshal William Slim, 1st Viscount Slim.
The Viscount Slim, Mark Slim and his sister The Honourable Mary Ann Slim will share memories of their famous grandfather.
