25 women were invited to attend the three- day course where they are taught basic healthcare. Top of the list is maternal health, antenatal care,the importance of giving birth in hospital , giving injections, taking temperatures and blood pressure. They are taught to recognise symptoms of Diabetes and common local prevalent diseases.
Each lady is given a kit at the end of the course to take back to their village. The kit contains a blood pressure check machine, Aqua check for Diabetes, weighing machine and thermomenter.
Dr Ngully plans to hold two more of these courses to cover all of the more remote areas of Nagaland.
